Pool care:
Cool and hygienic on hot summer days
The first hot summer days of the year make us sweat a lot. Lucky are those who own a Polyfaser pool. But what do you do when the crystal-clear, cool water turns into a green broth, a milky soup and a smelly puddle? After all, as the temperature rises, so does the risk that your pool will "tip over". To prevent this from happening, we have put together the most important tips for a hygienically clean, fresh pool:
Take a shower!
Even if it's tempting to just jump into the pool: Shower off before you take a dip, because sweat, skin particles and sunscreen cause the chlorine to wear off more quickly.
Filter at full speed
When it's particularly hot outside, your filter system can also work up a sweat. A simple formula is: the water in your pool should be "turned over" at least 3-4(!) times per day. We recommend that you run the filter system for 10 to 14 hours per day on midsummer days.
Backwash
It is equally important to backwash regularly. The finest impurities are removed and by refilling with fresh water, the swimming pool water always remains in the green zone.
Test, test, test
Chlorine content, pH value, alkalinity - when it comes to pool water, it's definitely the inner values that count! Either way: during a hot spell, you should check the values of your pool water several times a week, as the additives can behave differently than usual as the water temperature rises. With the right values, you can be sure that the health of you bathers and the materials of your pool will not be damaged.
The most important values at a glance:
The ideal pH value in pool water is 7.0 - 7.4.
The chlorine content should be 0.4 - 0.8 ppm.
Off into the shade
A pool like this also deserves a place in the shade. To prevent the pool water from heating up too much, you should cover the pool when you are not using it. That way it will also get less dirty. Here you will find stylish and highly functional pool covers from Polyfaser.
